ACDSee

From Altiris Wiki

Version(s): 3.1 SR-1

Capture Type: Single Program Capture

For this one, I installed ACDSee 3.0 and then re-entered capture mode (with the "Update Existing Layer" option in SVSAdmin) to apply the 3.1 SR-1 Updater.

After completing captures, you will need to go into [PROGRAMFILES]\ACD\PlugIns and rename the .APL files with truncated file names. This is a known issue with the ACDSee 3.x installer, NOT an SVS issue. See the ACD Systems support site for details, [1]

I always add an exclude entry for [WINDIR] (not including subdirectories). That way, after setting a wallpaper from within ACDSee, the wallpaper will always be available, whether or not the ACDSee layer is active. (When setting a wallpaper from within ACDSee, it creates a file in [WINDIR] called ACD Wallpaper.bmp)

Version(s): 7.0

Capture Type: Single Program Capture

OS capture was performed on: Windows 2003 Enterprise Server Release 2

I installed and ran the application successfully prior to exporting the layer. When I import the layer into XP or Windows 2000 Server, I get an error that says: "The registry was tampered with. Please reinstall the application". If I click "OK" and then run the application one more time, it all works just fine.
